Eleanor is our daughter. She was born on December 12, and her life — all two and a half months of it — was surrounded by love. Much of her time was spent in the NICU, where she fought hard alongside the extraordinary nurses and doctors who cared for her. She passed away in February 2026.
We created the Eleanor Foundation in her name to keep her memory alive, and as a way of showing our boundless and forever love for her. Her time here was brief, but through this foundation, she can make a lasting impact for years to come — one that reaches far beyond ourselves.
We are strong believers in education and in what it makes possible. Awarding scholarships in Eleanor's name lets us do something good in her memory, year after year: helping students who started life the same way she did — in the NICU — take their next step in college, whether they are just starting or already on their way.
Every scholarship carries her name. Every recipient becomes part of her story. Each year's recipients are announced on December 12 — Eleanor's birthday — so that her name is always spoken, and her memory lives on for a long, long time.
If you began life in the NICU and are a high school senior or already in college or trade school, we would love for you to apply for the Eleanor Foundation scholarship. You can also donate to fund NICU graduate scholarships.
The Eleanor Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in California. We are committed to transparency in everything we do: scholarship selections are made impartially against our published criteria, and our financial records, IRS Form 990, and exemption determination letter are available to the public upon request.
Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, or age.
